HERD - Women-Centered Storytelling (2025 - Current)

Launched an innovative storytelling platform that empowers women to share their stories with an enthusiastic and supportive audience. Through the art of storytelling and active listening, HERD fosters a sense of community, providing women with a space to connect, find common ground, and discover their voice. Saint Paul City Councilmember (2012 - 2024)

Council President ~ 2017-2024  

Ward 5 Councilmember ~ elected 2011, 2015 & 2019

Executive leadership for the legislative branch of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Successfully facilitated and negotiated the city’s $800M annual budget process. Played a key role in ongoing policy-making with a diverse council of seven individuals, each with their own unique backgrounds, talents, and priorities. Advanced an equity-centered city legislative agenda and advocacy, focusing on economic development, finance, and planning. Managed council staff, including the director of council operations, chief budget officer, legislative hearing officer, city clerk, and council research. Communicated and represented the council’s positions and decisions to the public as the council’s primary spokesperson.

Saint Paul Port Authority – Board of Directors (2021-present) 

Guided the Saint Paul Port Authority towards significant achievements such as expanding the tax base, creating quality jobs, and revitalizing river commerce. Key initiatives include an award-winning green bond sale, showcasing our commitment to sustainable practices and the pre-development of a transformative 40-acre site in the East Side, creating a vibrant mixed-use space.

Saint Paul Housing and Redevelopment Authority (2012 – 2024)

Chair of the Board ~ 2013-2017 

Led HRA during the mortgage crisis and housing recovery. Chief architect of the 2017 Fair Housing Resolution and the 2018 Fair Housing Action Plan. Facilitated the sale of Penfield housing and urban grocer project. Revamped the Low Income Housing Tax Credit scorecard. Restructured the city’s housing renovation program. Established a rental rehab program for QCT housing.

Saint Paul Regional Water Services – Board of Directors (2012-2024)

Vice President 2012-2019

Responsible for supervising water operations, ratifying budgets and revenue bonds, and suggesting water rates. Spearheaded a decade-long initiative to replace lead water service lines across the utility’s service area without any expense to property owners.

League of Minnesota Cities – Board of Directors & Building Committee (2018-2024)

Key contributor in developing the annual city-centric legislative agenda for the state.  Demonstrated leadership as a member of the Building Committee, spearheading the redevelopment of University and Rice sites.

Rice Larpenteur Alliance – Executive Committee (2015-2024)

Led a collaborative, cross-jurisdictional effort to revitalize underserved areas in Ramsey County, especially Rice Street at Larpenteur. Secured funding, engaged diverse partners, and developed a comprehensive plan. Established a governing board with members from various cities and counties to foster collaboration.

Joint Property Tax Advisory Committee – Board of Directors (2012-2024)

Member of the statutory committee of Ramsey County, Saint Paul Public Schools, and City of Saint Paul collaborating to advance legislative agenda and policy for overlapping jurisdictional budgets/priorities.

Children’s Home Society & Family Services- (2009-2012)

Director of Marketing and Communications 

Oversaw marketing, branding, communications, and web presence for a large $30 million non-profit organization specializing in adoption services and family support. Led a team of six professionals in the creation of compelling fundraising materials, the management of successful events, the nurturing of donor relations, and the establishment of new partnerships. Led communications strategy as member of the leadership team during the historic merger of CHSFS with Lutheran Social Service.

GoGirl (2008)

Freelance Marketing and Brand Ambassador

Strategically devised and executed a comprehensive marketing plan for a groundbreaking product launch. Responsible for producing compelling media content, organizing innovative events, attending industry expos, and serving as a charismatic brand ambassador.

Mediator and Policy Advocate, Residential Utilities Division (1996-2005) Provided legal support, advocacy, and mediation services on behalf of the Attorney General.
